The parser is the product
Everything a customer signs off traces back to an AST node. We spend our best engineering time on grammars, storage layouts and symbol resolution, and we review grammar changes like database migrations.
Test against real compilers
When we disagree about how COMP-3 truncates or how PERFORM THRU falls through, we settle it with a compiler listing, then commit the case as a regression test.
Customers see the source line
Every extracted rule ships with the file and line range it came from. Engineers here write code knowing an actuary will read the output beside the original COBOL.

Four steps, about three weeks.

Intro call
30 minutes with the hiring manager about your work and the role. No trivia.
- 02
Technical deep dive
90 minutes on a problem from our domain: a grammar ambiguity, a slicing question, or a deployment design. You can work in the language you know best.
- 03
Paired session
Half a day with two engineers on a realistic task in a prepared repository. Paid at a contractor day rate.
- 04
Leadership and offer
A conversation with Sahil or Nandini, references, and a written offer within five business days of the last interview.
